M.Recht Accessories Pty Ltd was founded by Mr. Michael Recht in 1950. He had come to Australia at the end of World War II and, as with many other migrants, his first job was in a clothing factory as a machinist. He quickly realised that all clothing manufacturers needed supplies of accessories to design and produce their garments; from concept stage, to the cutting table, then on to the machinists, completion and distribution.

With a combination of attentive observation, people’s trust and personal endeavour, Michael Recht began buying and selling accessories. Initially, he delivered them by tram to his customers. Eventually, he bought a small van which served as his office, warehouse and despatch depot until suitable premises could be afforded.

Today, in the tradition of our founder Michael Recht, the company services the clothing manufacturing industry in the general supply of accessories and trims, managed by owner Alan Recht with the support of experienced staff.

Trusting relationships with leading local and international suppliers have been consolidated and extended, enabling us to maintain optimum stock levels of the widest range of quality products. Our staff can respond to your requirements with knowledge service and quick over-the-counter sales or prompt delivery.
